These places were abandoned years ago. Look at them today

Berlin – Nevada, USA

Berlin – in Nevada, not Germany! – was founded in 1897 amid a mining boom. Unfortunately, the industry never flourished as expected and was practically abandoned by 1911.

No one stayed to keep it or turn it into something else, so it hasn’t changed until today. At the time of writing, it is part of Nevada State Park. Visitors can explore the area and see what it looked like over 100 years ago.

At first glance, it may look like an image painted on canvas. Actually, it’s a photo of Kolmanskop. Founded in 1908, the village was formed after a man found a rough diamond. Suddenly, many outsiders came to the area hoping to get rich.

When no more diamonds appeared, the villagers wiped out all the other rare natural resources. All soon left, leaving the village abandoned for 1954. No one visits it today.
